I have been working with the wonderful Adam & Sarah since 2019 to create their perfect moody boho wedding. When our brilliant Wedding Specialist, Charlotte, joined my team in 2020 I knew they were in very safe hands – I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Charlotte met with the McSeveneys for their Stage 3 planning meeting and they connected instantly.
Throughout their wedding journey, we helped Adam & Sarah book nearly every aspect of their wedding day, landing on the beautiful Valhalla for their venue. When the 20th of May 2021 finally came, the weather was perfect and the autumn leaves on the trees made for a stunning backdrop for photos. The couple met at Heaven Gardens for an emotional and fun-filled ‘first look’ and the ceremony was held at the end of Valhalla’s gorgeous tree-lined driveway to take full advantage of the picturesque setting.
The Bridal Party was already having a party in the Hummer when they arrived to the ceremony so we knew this was going to be a fun day. With guests and Bridal Party in place, it was time for the vivacious couple to be reunited at the altar. Adam and Sarah’s vows had everyone in stitches. They were the perfect balance of sweet and funny, with the couple stealing some kisses during the vows! Their Celebrant, Joe Contin, had moved to Melbourne since being booked but he travelled up to the Hunter Region with his family especially for Adam and Sarah’s wedding to honour his commitment and did a fantastic job.
Behind the scenes, Charlotte got up on a ladder to string copper wire lights into the ceiling feature pieces to add ambience. Due to the venue acquiring new, heavier furniture during the planning period, we weren’t able to set up according to the original site plan so we adapted on the day to bring together the reception space with the furniture and styling on hand. Adam & Sarah were over the moon with the result.
When Charlotte met with them at Valhalla a few months before the wedding, the couple were both in love with the Highland Cows that live there and wanted to get a photo with them on the day. Sure enough, Sarah enticed the cows to come over to the fence by waving her bouquet. The cows thought the bouquet was food, allowing photographer Stories with Mel the perfect opportunity to capture Sarah and Adam kissing with the cows behind them.
Sarah got emotional just thinking about her Father-Daughter dance in wedding planning meetings so we knew it would be a really special moment between the two of them. Charlotte recounted this story to Sarah’s Dad just before the wedding and he already had tears in his eyes. On the night, the dance was everything they wanted it to be. I think they even danced to more than one song!
Guests danced the night away and feasted on Valhalla’s delicious menu of woodfired pizzas, celebrating the love of Mr & Mrs McSeveney. We wish them all of the happiness for the future, congratulations Adam & Sarah!
