While we navigate the tests of covid and its restrictions, it’s timely to look back on some of our beautiful couples who finally, after in some cases multiple postponements, made it to the altar. In April this year, we finally got to celebrate with and bring to life the wedding of Josh & Natalie, the new Mr & Mrs Grant!

We met Josh & Nat back in July 2019, freshly engaged and with stars in their eyes dreaming of their gorgeous boho wedding. We clicked right away in their first consult and I knew this was going to be a fun one, the couple entrusting us with their Wedding Planning, Styling, On Day Management & MC duties.

I won’t go in to the nitty gritty of what happened when COVID-19 hit and the rollercoaster of emotions poor Josh & Nat went through as by now unfortunately we’re all too familiar! After endless calls and emails with vendors to work our magic, their new date of April 29th 2021 was booked in and it was all systems go.

Their new date was an excellent choice because much aside from there being few COVID-19 restrictions in NSW, it was a perfect sunny autumn day at Estate Tuscany. Their nearest and dearest gathered for a beautiful boho ceremony overlooking the Hunter Valley, themed with rustic mismatched vintage chairs and tapestry rugs lining the aisle. Josh waited anxiously for his Bride at the altar with their two adorable sausage dogs, Spirit and Ivy, close by that I was chaperoning a little at some points. Between their dogs and the cutest little flower girl, Violet, in a puffy pink dress, it was cuteness overload!

Soon it was time for Nat to make her grand entrance after we fiddled for a while getting her strappy shoes to sit perfectly and to say she looked stunning is an understatement. We look at things like the angle of the sun at a certain time and date when planning a ceremony, but sometimes nature has other plans. Part way through the ceremony the sun was a little too full on for Nat so the gents quickly and seamlessly moved the arbour into the shade.

After the ceremony, it was time to get the cocktails flowing. I left the cocktail making to the professionals and set about doing what I do best – making sure every detail of Josh & Nat’s day was perfect! Sometimes this means carrying trays of canapes and drinks to the bridal party photoshoot some 400m away, which I’ll happily do to keep my clients fed & hydrated! The boho theming with a splash of colour continued into the reception, where guests were treated to a delicious Italian inspired menu. Whilst the food was amazing, the highlight of the night for me was Nat’s surprise – instead of giving a speech she sang a song to Josh, blowing everyone away as most guests had never heard her sing before. I loved Emceeing this fun filled wedding and will always remember how many times the gorgeous yet nervous Nat needed to use the bathroom in preparation for her surprise. Personal touches at a wedding are so important in order to make your day really YOURS. Josh & Nat had the cutest custom cake topper featuring their two puppies, definitely a keepsake for them to hold on to and look back on their day in years to come.

We miss Josh & Nat but are so glad we got to be a part of their wedding journey and can’t wait to see what the future holds for Mr & Mrs Grant!
