A gloomy sky and a drizzle of rain can often be thought of as a Wedding Day Curse – but when it came to Lachie and Chels, they embraced the rain with a smile and an incredible photo shoot to boot. Scrolling through their galley, I can’t help but feel thrown right back to the moment they became husband and wife, and the afternoon they spent with eyes for no one but each other.
As we all know, lockdowns and restrictions are ever-present and ever-changing. Towards the end of our journey with Lachie and Chels, we had to accommodate new regulations more than a few times- but the couple handled it with a grace so sincere we knew everything would work out with a little hard work. Their wedding evolved from a sit down to a cocktail, from 90 to 30 guests, from 30 guests to 70 until finally through sheer persistence and determination (Chels was not giving up her November date!), we re-styled and arrived at 27.11.2021.
Their morning started with handwritten love letters and memorial charms of loved family members that were watching over from above. The Lovedale room at Spicers Guesthouse set the scene for an intimate, romantic ceremony that saw a few tears, a few giggles and a lot of love. Chelsea’s walk down the aisle was magic, her smile lit up the room and was reflected by every guest. Lachie wasn’t the only one to wipe tears from his eyes as they became husband and wife, and soft white rose petals showered them on their way out as they finally clasped hands as Mr and Mrs Macbeth.
They spent the afternoon in each other’s arms, their love captured timelessly by Bec from Azure Creative within the grounds of Spicers Guesthouse. It was words from Chels’ Mum on behalf of her Pop, and heartfelt words reflecting on Nan that saw her tears softly wiped from her cheeks by Lachie. Chels had a chance to return the favour when Lachie was overcome during the best man speech by long-time friend Jai.
If we thought the festivities had begun when the bridal party entered to cheers with shots of vodka, it was nothing to prepare us for when the band from SCR Music started effortless blending song after song that had the dance floor at capacity! The lovely couple could be found wrapped in each other’s arms with nothing but laughter holding them back from their killer moves! Chels had the perfect shoes for the perfect dance party: a white, diamante encrusted pair of sneakers!
We are so grateful to have been a part of your day Lachie and Chels, we wish you nothing but happiness and laughter as you embark on this next great adventure!
