Deep in the rolling green hills of Dungog Shire is a gorgeous locality called Underbank. The picturesque country charm leant itself perfectly to the vision of Adam & Jaide’s unique wedding day. When we met Mr & Mrs Silvio-to-be in April 2020, we knew this one was going to be something very special. The love between them was obvious from the moment we met them.
With venue (a private farm), catering (The Italian Job) and photography (Daniel Griffiths) booked in, Adam & Jaide came to us looking for guidance on the finishing touches and crucial logistics management of their wedding. We helped recommend and organise these all-important touches, from furniture to florals and everything in between. We had such a great time carefully curating the styling and flow of the couple’s wedding.
Jaide had always dreamt of getting married in the local Church her family has links to so the beautiful Christ Church Dungog was a no-brainer for the ceremony. On the big day it was the perfect setting for the old-Hollywood, black & white glamour created for Mr & Mrs Silvio.
When you’re looking for old-Hollywood glamour, you can’t really go past the stunning fleet from EVW (Exclusive Vintage Wedding) Cars. Jaide looked every part the movie star arriving in a gorgeous classic Rolls Royce. She chose the most elegant and classic white gown from Grace Loves Lace, complete with an eye-catching beaded white Egyptian-style choker necklace from designer Lee Grebenau purchased from Helen Rodrigues Bridal. Her hair and makeup were kept timeless and simple, thanks to the expert hands of the bridal party self-styling their hair and Zoe was the makeup master. The maids were dressed to impress in classic black dresses, to compliment the groomsmen in sharp black suits from The Bespoke Corner with matching bowties.
The red carpet rolled out in front of Jaide and it was time for her to meet her Mr-Right at the altar. Their Priest joined the anxious couple, they exchanged rings from Grew and Co – the Bride standing in the very same spot as her mother years earlier – and cheers erupted for the newlyweds!
Time for their photographer, Daniel Griffiths, to work his magic. The couple and their Bridal Party toured the local area, capturing gorgeous photos in front of beautifully preserved historical buildings and in Jaide’s Aunty’s home. The bride and her maids ditched their heels in favour of sneakers and you could tell the real party was about to kick off!
Back at the reception styled by Hunter Valley Bouquets and cake by Dragon Fly Cakes, I was beyond excited to be MC. It was all hands-on deck for Charlotte and I who not only co-coordinated, but we stepped in as waiters, took on dish washing duties, clearing plates, ferrying around trays of canapes and generally jumping on any issues that popped up! While waiter and dish pig might not be written in our job description, here at Hunter Events we know that every role and aspect running perfectly is crucial, so we always go above and beyond to make sure our couples’ wedding day goes seamlessly.
The flurry of amazing traditional Italian food was so well received, as were the 120 limoncello shots I hand poured for each and every guest following Adam’s Dad’s speech! The Hunter Bartender ensured every guest always had a drink in hand. Everyone was singing and dancing along to live music from Williams and Co. – one of the groomsmen even got up and sang! While he should probably hold on to his day job, I’m sure Mr & Mrs Silvio will remember the moment fondly for years to come.
Thank you Mr & Mrs Silvio for entrusting us with your gorgeous wedding, we wish you all the happiness for the future and can’t wait to watch your love grow as husband & wife.
