There’s nothing quite like getting to finally bring a wedding to life for our couples after they’ve had to deal with the grief and anguish of postponement. The wedding of highschool sweethearts Dylan & Bria after nearly two years of planning was no exception!

Dylan & Bria came to us mid 2019 with their hearts set on becoming Mr & Mrs Moore in May 2020, with a fair few suppliers booked in. We guided them to the perfect suppliers for finishing touches, took over on-day management to ensure it ran smoothly plus I was super excited and honoured to be asked to be their MC!

Unfortunately COVID-19 threw a spanner in the works, narrowly getting caught up in the pandemic and its restrictions. We quickly set about helping them move all their bookings (while holding on to as many deposits as possible!) to a hopefully post-pandemic date and promised them that it was just a matter of time – their dream day was still on the way.

Fast forward through the whirlwind of 2020 and on the 3rd of April 2021 we finally got to make good on our promise. The gardens of Rydges Newcastle was the perfect place for the couple’s modern ceremony, tucked away among the hedges and low-hanging trees, completed with styling touches provided by Exotic Lily. On an unseasonably hot April day, their nearest and dearest gathered to watch them finally become Mr & Mrs Moore. One quirk of the venue is that to get to the aisle, the Bridal Party walked directly past the hotel pool. Bria looked so absolutely stunning that the guests in the pool were in awe of her beauty and gave her a supportive little cheer to uplift her before getting to the actual aisle. Who could blame them?! Bria looked picture perfect with incredible hair (by Bridesmaid Chardy) & makeup (The Boys Studio), elegantly detailed gown (Newcastle Bridal House) and bouquet crafted by the Bride herself. While Sydney Ensemble set the scene with gentle music, Bria made her way to the altar down a trail of delicate white rose petals to her eagerly waiting Groom and all eyes were on the highschool sweethearts as they finally became husband and wife with the help of the amazing Celebrant Julie Muir.

Redhead Surf Life Saving Club was the next stop for the celebrations, beautifully styled by Cupid’s Corner and the Bride herself. The Bridal Party – including another of our gorgeous Brides who was one of Bria’s Bridesmaids – escaped to the beach with expert photographer Ludo Petrik and Hipshot Films on scene for videography. It was such a lovely location because their guests could watch on from the deck of the venue, something which rarely gets to happen at weddings.  Shoutout to Bria’s Bridesmaids Chardy who Is a professional and definitely qualified dress-fluffer!

It was time for me to jump on the mic and take up my duties as MC, and boy was everyone ready to party! Bria’s Cousin and Bridesmaid Chardy was an entertaining ball of energy. I could relate all too well and Dynamic DJ’s delivered as always to get everyone up and dancing. We brought out a few classics like one of my personal favourites – the Shoe Game! If you haven’t thought about doing the Shoe Game at your wedding, or don’t know what I’m talking about, look it up – SO much fun and a fantastic way to keep your guests entertained.

The night was a whirlwind of heartfelt speeches, amazing Cupcake Espresso treats, tasty food (Cater Force), fun dancing and a gorgeous photo wall of Bria & Dylan throughout their relationship, showing just how strong and long-lasting their love is. …Stronger than the cake tower that held up their tiers of cupcakes! I flagged it with Dylan just before cake cutting and he held the top tier to stop it from falling as they cut it. Now I can add ‘cake-disaster-prevention’ to my list of roles and experience.

Dylan and Bria – Mr & Mrs Moore – were one of our longest-term and favourite couples. Seeing them finally become husband and wife and knowing we played a part in making it perfect was such a treat. We wish them all the happiness in the world and know these lovebirds will be together for a very long time to come.
