Where do we start with the epic, cultural extravaganza that was the Hoyek Wedding?! The gorgeous Mike & Nat came to us in December 2020 just looking for help with On Day Coordination. Nearly all suppliers had been booked and their dream location, Peterson House, secured for March 2021. We immediately connected with the lively young couple and knew bringing their dream wedding to life would be a blast!
The Chapel at Peterson House never disappoints and on the 21st of March 2021, it was a picture of perfection. Elegantly scattered greenery and candles from The Bloom Folk lined the aisle, leading to a unique and modern arbour arrangement set around white plinths.
Mike waited anxiously for his Bride to join him in front of the altar, looking dashing in his custom white suit from Montagio, alongside Groomsmen in light grey suits from Peter Jackson. With everything in place, the time came and Nat arrived in a gorgeous Rolls Royce from Exclusive Vintage Wedding Cars. We absolutely love a dramatic dress and boy did she deliver! Nat’s stunning gown from Christina Rossi was over 2m wide, capped off with a 4m long train. The Bride sparkled even more than the crystal-dipped dress, unable to contain her joy as she took her last steps as an unmarried woman.
One of our favourite Hunter Valley professionals to work with is Deacon Lawrence Caelli. As always, he delivered a heartfelt and touching ceremony which let glimpses of the couples’ vibrant personalities shine through. They exchanged Cartier and Gattea rings and before long, their nearest and dearest erupted in cheers and celebration, overjoyed and privileged to be present for the joining of Mr & Mrs Hoyek. The end of the ceremony quickly transformed into an energised, celebratory dance party with drums from Next Entertainment dancing the couple the whole way out of the Chapel! Guests were greeted outside with drinks and antipasto while the Bridal Party were swept away by Mr Hendrix Photography for their photos.
The atmosphere was set for a night of vibrant cultural traditions - the Bridal Party Entrance took over 15 minutes with dancing and drumming! Between each course and formality, a blend of Western and Arabic music got everyone on their feet and brought the cultures of the families together. The atmosphere was so electric we couldn’t keep still! Between MC’ing and ensuring every little detail ran perfectly, we spent the night dancing and having a blast with the newlyweds and their families.
The wedding itself was a real family affair. Nat’s friends did her stunning hair and makeup (Amelia Jacobs & Le Powder Room respectively), while Mike’s parents skilfully created their elegant wedding cake. After a beautiful Father-Daughter dance, Nat immediately walked over and embraced her Mother, glowing with love and respect for her parents. Not to be outdone, Mike took his new wife in his arms for their first dance together and everyone watched on as they danced to an acoustic rendition of Take On Me plucked from the MTV Unplugged archives. Giant ‘MR & MRS HOYEK’ light up letters from Love Glows shone in the background and indoor fireworks from Next Entertainment sparkled at the perfect moment, adding the cherry on top to a moment the couple will treasure forever.
The Hoyeks are such a beautiful couple inside and out that we felt like part of the family! From wiping the mud off Nat’s feet and changing her shoes from heels to sneakers (she couldn’t reach around her amazing dress), to running through the rain to get water for the Groom and dancing with their guests well into the night, it’s safe to say we had a blast and won’t soon forget the cultural spectacular that was the Hoyek wedding!
