10/10/20 was a big day for our Hunter Valley Wedding planning team, proving a very popular date to tie the knot.
We had been working with Laura & Harry from almost the beginning of their Wedding journey – receiving a call early on from Laura’s Mother Karen that they were overwhelmed and needed support. Karen connected us with the lovely couple and we set about helping plan and coordinate nearly every aspect of their special day so that they could sit back, relax and just enjoy the journey together. When COVID-19 hit and the ability to bring their dream to life came into question, we knew we had to pull out all the stops and make sure it went ahead perfectly.
The intimate ceremony was held at Morpeth Common, under the massive fig tree which was draped with delicate chiffon to create a beautiful natural arbour. Their nearest and dearest gathered under the tree with a full COVID Safe plan in place. The days before the wedding were spent consulting with NSW Health, local Police and neighbours to make sure the reception at home was 100% legal and safe. After a nervous morning, it was time to get the long-awaited day underway on a perfect Spring day.
As she arrived at Morpeth Commons, Laura looked stunning in her gown from JJs House with beautiful hair & makeup by Steff Matheson. Waiting under the fig tree for his blushing bride was Harry, looking dapper in his suit from David Jones. Celebrant Kelli Mills calmed the Bride & Groom’s nerves and their dream wedding ceremony became a reality, exchanging rings from Simon Curwood and Heirloom Jewellers.
The perfect day continued at Laura’s parents’ property, where a stellar line-up of local suppliers were waiting to welcome guests to the reception, including me as their MC. The Party Hire Co. overdelivered once again with a gorgeous marquee and flooring, which combined with pieces from some of our favourite suppliers creating the perfect relaxed lunch space. The couple chose a crowd- pleasing tower of Krispy Kreme donuts instead of a traditional wedding cake, which I had a lot of fun constructing on site.
Lush florals from Ivy Lane Florists and furniture from The Event Master completed the vision. Guests enjoyed delicious food from El Poco Loco and drinks made by Eventful Bartending, taking home some great happy snaps from the OMG Booths photobooth. The entire beautiful day was captured by the always wonderful Thierry Boudan Photography.
The love on the day was overwhelming and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when both Laura’s Mother and Harry’s Mother gave a speech together, something we haven’t seen before at one of our weddings and a very touching moment we won’t soon forget. As the MC I got everyone laughing and playing along with the Shoe Game with hilarious responses and a few surprises!
A truly beautiful day for a lovely couple. It was a privilege to help Laura & Harry not only bring their wedding dream to life but to also MC their day. We wish them all of the happiness for their new lives together.
